About Me

I have a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan and have worked in the health care field for the past 25 years as a health care executive and hospital administrator.  I have seen up close how the system has become more about "sick care" and less about "health care." Despite the fact that the U.S. spends more money per person on "health care" than any other developed country, our rates of obesity, diabetes, hypertension and other chornic diseases continue to soar.

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS SITUATION!

I decided to turn my focus to health promotion and I received my professional training to practice Nutrition and Wellness Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City.

I chose to work in nutrition and help people because I know what it's like to struggle with weight and health issues. For most of my adult life I was always trying not to eat, thinking that was the best way to control my weight. It was only after I trained in whole foods nutrition that I viewed food not as the enemy but as a wonderful friend, ready to nurture my body in ways that it needed. Only then was I able to lose weight and improve my own health issues - my hypertension disappeared, my blood sugar went down, my blood lipid profile improved and my yeast infections went away. I lost weight, regained my energy and feel better now than I have in years. I want to share with you what I have learned to enable you to lead a healthier, happier life.
